Membership
The Club's average attendance pre COVID-19 at its monthly meetings was 90. This from a total of 150+ financial members. In a town of Strathalbyn's size, these are very pleasing figures indeed!
The initial cost to become a new member of the Strathalbyn Garden Club is currently $25, which comprises $15 for a year’s membership subscription, plus $10 joining fee. Continuing membership is then $15 per year thereafter, due at the Annual General Meeting held every June of each year (the Committee reserves the right to alter any future membership fee at the Annual General Meeting in the interests of the welfare of the Club).
If a member is planning to be absent for a significant time, they are encouraged to pay their subscription for the coming year in advance. This will eliminate the need for them to have to pay the additional joining fee if their membership expires while they are away.
The annual membership subscription is kept at a nominal sum as it is subsidised by a Raffle, a Donation Table, a Sellers’ Table and various other fundraising activities.

NEXT MEETING: FRIDAY 22ND MARCH 2024 - 9.30 FOR A 10am START
Well we finally had a heatwave just when we thought we were going to get away with it and then last Thursday we had our first rain for a little over six weeks.
I hope you and your gardens all survived as we now really settle into Autumn and that the fuchsias that were taken home from the last meeting survived – ours is looking a little bit sad but we are eternal optimists when it comes to plants surviving.
This month we welcome back Paul di Puglia from Neutrog – he is always interesting to listen to with plenty of good advice.
I look forward to seeing you all on Friday. David Thomas, President
QUESTIONNAIRE:
If you have not already done so your committee encourages you to complete the questionnaire to help us plan for the future of our club – copies are available at the sign in desk.
Please take a few minutes to complete it and return it to the box by the door at this month’s meeting.
The responses received last month were most encouraging.
*** It helps our kitchen crew if you bring your own cup for the morning break and, if you have surplus plants, garden produce or garden related items they can be given to either, or both, the trading and raffle tables.
*** TRADING TABLE: Garden magazines are welcome on the Trading Table but please – no more hard cover books.
NO MORE DRIPS: If you are bringing any plants in pots for the Raffle or Trading Tables please ensure that you wrap the pot in plastic wrap or a plastic bag to prevent leakage onto the tables or the floor of the Centre.
If you are able please print your own newsletter to help control our costs.
